Applications are invited for a 2-year Postdoctoral Research Associate position to join the Centre for Microvascular Research at William Harvey Research Institute, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. The positions offer an exciting opportunity for postdoctoral fellows to join a newly established group working on lymph node stromal biology in homeostasis and inflammation. Specifically, the project will be focusing on how lymph node fibroblastic reticular cells govern the lymphocyte function and behavior during inflammation. We will be using various vaccination models and helminths as model organism to address the stimulating questions related to stromal-lymphocytes cross talk. The postdoctoral fellow will have an opportunity to learn 2-photon microscopy, deep tissue imaging along with novel mice models recently established to identify novel mechanisms that stromal cells employ to regulate the crosstalk with immune cells. Candidate will gain research experience in the areas of stromal biology, tissue microenvironment, mucosal immunology and vaccine biology. Close collaboration will occur with the other existing groups in the school of Medicine and dentistry and require occasional travel to UK and European institutions. The research findings will be published in high impact journals, along with a definite opportunity to present his/her work at national and international meetings.
