Full Time Postdoctoral Contract in Social Sciences in Nantes (France)



    12 to 18 months contract (renewable up to 36 months)

    ENVIRONMENT
    Audencia Business School is triple accredited (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA), and one of the leading European and French Business Schools. The school offers a wide range of programs including MSc, MBA, Executive MBA, European Master in Management, Doctorate and Executive Education Programs, with 137 core faculty members from 29 countries. The school is located in Nantes, a young and dynamic French city close to the sea (one hour drive) and two hours away from Paris by train, serviced by an international airport.
    The postdoctoral researcher will benefit from the material and scientific infrastructure of Audencia, allowing him/her to carry out research in the best conditions. Moreover, he/she will be included in the academic life of the research team of the school, including senior researchers and PhD students, in a multinational and stimulating scientific and professional atmosphere. 100+ research professors are involved in its research lab ‘Audencia research’ that produced more than 400 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 107 books and 46 case studies. Professors regularly attract both private and public funding including research grants at the local, regional, national and European level.
    The postdoctoral researcher will be part of the Audencia research lab and will work under the supervision of Professor Caroline Lancelot Miltgen, Marketing Professor at Audencia since 2014.

    CONTEXT
    This contract is supported by a Research Grant funded by the European Commission (H2020). The grant covers a 3-year collaborative project with 13 partners all over Europe coming from both the industry and famous research institutions. Most partners have a background in computer science.
    The postdoctoral researcher will interact regularly with all these partners through the project.

    POSTDOCTORAL CONTRACT AREA
    Audencia Business School invites applications at the rank of postdoctoral researcher (after PhD) with research interests consistent with the areas of privacy / data protection.
    You do not need to have a PhD in privacy/data protection to apply.
    Postdoctoral researchers in any SSH domain (e.g. Management, Business, Marketing, MIS, HCI, Psychology, Sociology, …) can apply.
    Research in domains such as e.g. finance, accounting or entrepreneurship are excluded.
    Researchers are strongly encouraged to contact Prof. Lancelot before applying to ensure the eligibility of their discipline and of the topic of their thesis/research.

    CONTENT OF THE RESEARCH PROJECT
    The aim of the project is to develop a platform aiming to help EU citizens creating a secure digital identity that could be used in all online applications whether public (i.e. to pay taxes or ensure online voting) or private (e.g., e-commerce, e-health, etc …).  

    OBJECTIVES
    The postdoctoral researcher will have the following objectives:
    1. Manage the project and ensure the communication both inside the project and outside
    2. Write all necessary reports and deliver them on time
    3. Do desk research and state of the art analysis
    4. Set-up, run studies and analyze data collected using both qualitative and quantitative research methods
    5. Write research papers

    REQUIRED PROFILE
    - Holding a PhD in SSH (or PhD defense expected before end 2021, knowing the position is full time)
    - Ability to develop and conduct high quality research independently
    - Knowledge of and experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methods
    - Demonstrated ability to conduct interviews, focus groups and to run surveys and experiments
    - Demonstrated ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data using state of the art and up to date research methods
    - Demonstrated ability to speak and write professional English (including writing reports and research articles in English)
    - Demonstrated ability to manage (research) projects
    - The candidate can be from any country outside France
    - Deep interest in academic research
    - Good collaborative skills
    - Having German or Spanish as a mother tongue or being fluent in one of these two languages would be a plus but is not required
    - Basic skills in French would be a plus but are not required

    CALENDAR
    - Submission of applications until June 1st 2021 (exchanges are encouraged before the application)
    - Selection of candidates by September 2021
    - Beginning of the contract on October 1st 2021
    The contract is for 12 to 18 months (renewable up to 36 months).

    The application should contain one pdf including in this order: a CV (10 pages max.), a motivation letter (2 pages max.), two recommendation letters (including one from their PhD’s supervisor(s), the PhD committee report, the PhD diploma and up to 2 already published papers. A second pdf will contain the PhD thesis.
