Starting Salary is £33,797 per annum pro rata. London Allowance of £2,134 will be payable in addition to salary.
Applications are invited for the post of Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Theoretical Physics in the Physics Department at Royal Holloway.
This is a post to work on the quantum many body problem both via analytical calculations and numerical simulations. The post involves developing new tools relying on random matrix theory in order to understand strongly interacting and disordered quantum systems from a dynamical and statistical point of view. The work is funded by a research grant from the Leverhulme Trust.
The holder of the post will be expected to help produce independent and original research within the RHUL Physics Department, to submit publications to refereed journals, and to work together and supervise postgraduate and MSci students. The successful applicant will have a PhD in theoretical physics with experience on analytical calculations using quantum many body techniques, as well as programming abilities in C, C++ or python.
This is a full time post, available from 1 May 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter for a fixed term period of 24 months at Royal Holloway, University of London, with the possibility of extension.
