A Postdoctoral Research Assistant position is available at Queen Mary University of London in Dr Janelle Jones’ group, to work on the AHRC-UKRI Covid-19 Rapid Response funded project “Distanced Arts: Investigating the design, delivery, and impacts of Entelechy Arts' Staying Connected Programme”.
The successful candidate should have a PhD (or is close to completion) in Social or Health Psychology, or a closely related field. Candidates must have demonstrable experience in the successful management of mixed method, longitudinal, and community-based research projects (ideally with older adults). Excellent research project management and associated organisational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates must also be proficient in the use of data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, NVivo). Experience with semi-structured interviewing, thematic analysis, longitudinal data analysis, and general data management would be an advantage. A proven track record of published research in social and/or health psychology applied to ageing is highly desirable.
Working closely with Entelechy Arts (
www.entelechyarts.co.uk), the post-holder will conduct qualitative research with staff, artists, and volunteers on the design and delivery of their distanced arts programme, Staying Connected. The post-holder will also conduct quantitative longitudinal research to investigate the impact(s) of Staying Connected on older adults’ connection, health, and well-being. The main role of this post includes the on-going co-ordination and management of the research project. This involves data collection, data entry, screening and analysis, as well as writing up findings for dissemination to external stakeholders and publication in peer-reviewed journals. The post holder will have the opportunity to manage a part-time research assistant who will support the project.

The post is based at the Mile End campus in London (with remote working available). It is full-time and fixed-term for up to 15 months. As this is a rapid response project, the successful candidate must be able to start on 1st May 2021 (or sooner, if possible) The salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £33,324 - £38,084 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
