Postdoctoral Scholar in Data-driven Infectious Disease Modeling Research



    The University of South Florida is seeking to hire a postdoctoral scholar to participate in the development of data-driven infectious disease modeling research in accordance with the needs of funded research programs that will result in significant articles published in highly ranked, peer reviewed research journals. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced candidate to join this research initiative. The incumbent will work independently and under supervision, meet all assigned deadlines, and function as part of a research team.

    Competitive candidates must have a PhD in computational science and infectious disease modeling, experience in data science, and experience in programing using modelling software: VIZ, Matlab, C++, R. Python.

    Preferred Qualifications: Experience in automated data capture and processing from open source databases; experience in developing, programing and calibrating disease systems models; knowledge of spatially-explicit network- and agent-based disease modelling; experience with developing model-based web applications/dashboards; experience in mentoring and supervising students in labs; experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students; and exhibit excellent time management, communication and written skills.
