UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1, UCD School of Psychology, Temporary 12 Months



    Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Psychology.

    The second My World Survey (MWS-2) report, a collaboration between UCD School of Psychology and Jigsaw – The National Centre for Youth Mental Health, was published in November 2019 and provided new insights into, and a better understanding of, young people's mental health and wellbeing. Data were collected from over 19,000 young people aged 12-25 years and key findings are available on www.myworldsurvey.ie.

    This post will focus on conducting additional analyses of MWS-2 data and disseminating key findings from the research to stakeholders including academic audiences, policymakers, mental health professionals and those working in the area of youth mental health. Specific areas of focus include: changes from MWS 1 to MWS2, regional analyses, gender, diversity, suicidal behaviour in young adults, sexual orientation in adolescents, student mental health, sleep and other factors.

    This is an academic research role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development https://www.ucd.ie/researchcareers/trainingdevelopmentopportunities/
    under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

    The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching. You will also have the opportunity to develop your communication skills to policy makers and practitioners and to develop quantitative data analyses and dissemination skills.

    Salary: €34,273 per annum
