Animal Models Senior Technical Manager

    The University of Cambridge wishes to appoint a Senior Technical Manager in Animal Models to join the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit to manage, maintain, develop and characterise animal models for research local groups in order to support the effective delivery of research activity of the Unit.

    The postholder will assist the research programmes in the Unit that require animal models by providing high level advice to research staff, students and group leaders (PIs) on ongoing projects and the development of future research projects related to animal models. The postholder will also be responsible for holding, managing and updating the Project Licence for the programmes of animal work in the Unit and be responsible for compliance.

    Candidates will have a PhD in relevant biological or veterinary sciences, hold PIL and PPL certificates and a track record of related research achievements. Strong experience in in animal model work (small rodents) including writing and managing animal Project Licences are essential.
