      Mr Kourosh Saeb-Parsy

We are looking for a Research Associate to join Mr Kourosh Saeb-Parsy’s research group in the Department of Surgery based on the Biomedical Campus.

The position would develop research centered on the immune response to cellular therapies derived from pluripotent stem cells. In particular, human hepatocyte cellular therapies will be studied using mice that have been reconstituted with human immune cells (‘humanised’ mice). This project is part of the UK Regenerative Medicine Platform, which is an interdisciplinary collaboration with the aim of using human pluripotent stem cells as therapies in clinical practice. https://www.ukrmp.org.uk

This research aims to understand the in vivo function and immunogenicity of regenerative cellular therapies after transplantation. The post-holder would be expected to participate in a range of closely related research projects conducted in the Saeb-Parsy group, including development of novel models of ‘humanised’ mice, immunological characterisation of normal adult cells and tumour cells, regenerative cellular therapies, as well as the safety and efficacy of cancer immunotherapies. The research projects complement one another and require collaborative work between lab members, who include other Research Associates, Research Assistants and PhD students. https://www.saeb-parsy.group.cam.ac.uk

Applicants should hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant, specialist subject area, such as immunology, cell biology or molecular biology.

The post is funded by an award from the MRC as part of the UK Regenerative Medicine Platform collaborative award.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30th June 2021.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check.
