LOCATION: AFBI Hillsborough, Co. Down BT26 6DR
This position offers a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative scientist to lead significant livestock research programmes within the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI). The post holder will report to the project leader of Sustainable Livestock Systems research team at AFBI Hillsborough. The appointee will have a central role in a range of research projects relating to improving the sustainability of livestock production through more efficient and effective practices encompassing animal nutrition, health, welfare and grassland management. The appointee will assist in the design of and be responsible for the supervision of studies conducted on the instrumented research farm at AFBI Hillsborough and also on commercial farms. The appointee will work closely with postgraduate students within the research programme.
