    The Institute for Cardiovascular Prevention offers one Postdoc Position

    Area of responsibility
    Local immunomodulation of atherosclerosis by CD8+ T-cell based nanomedicines.

    A Postdoc position is available to study native and liposome conjugated CD8+ T-cells and their interactions with foam cells and other atherosclerotic structures in both human and murine experimental models of atherosclerosis. The latter will be conducted by application of state-of-the-art imaging technology such as optoacoustic mesoscopy, optical nanoscopy, and multiphoton microscopy for studying novel experimental models.

    The project is part of a european research network (ERA-CVD) and combined with work programs of the consortium partners in Leiden (NL) and Ghent (BE) may ultimately lead to new protective pathways and therapeutic intervention strategies for treatment of atherosclerosis.

    Our requirements
    Eligible candidates should be a highly motivated team player. A strong affinity with advanced imaging technology is a prerequisite as well as experience with immunological and molecular biological techniques. Solid English skills, both written and spoken are a requirement, German language skills would be advantageous. The successful candidate should be independent and hold an above-average PhD degree in biology, biomedical sciences, or related fields.
