MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine
    University of Oxford

    Grade 7: £32,236 - £39,609 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious Postdoctoral Scientist to join the research group of Professor Adam Mead at the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (WIMM). The position is available fixed-term for 3 years, funded by CRUK.

The Mead laboratory is focused on studying normal and malignant haematopoiesis, through the application of single-cell genomics and stem cell biology techniques. The overarching aim of this exciting project is to identify new therapeutic approaches for children with Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukaemia, a poor prognosis blood cancer of childhood. The successful candidate will lead this work, utilising novel single-cell multi-omic approaches, together with cutting-edge in vivo models.

You will hold a PhD (or near to completion: thesis submitted) in a relevant area, with experience in transcriptome analysis, FACS analysis and cell culture techniques. A strong publication record in high-impact peer-reviewed journals is necessary, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and independently drive, innovate and complete your own research and associated activities.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online.

You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application.
