011418 - UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1, UCD School of Psychology (Two temporary posts - 2 years 6 months duration)

Applications are invited for a temporary post(s) of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Psychology.

This HEA funded research is focussed on developing a holistic retention strategy for emotional, social and academic transition and progression. The research is led by TCD with three interrelated work-packages. The three work packages to this project will create new initiatives to improve the delivery and effectiveness of student services. UCD is leading on Work-package 1. National Student Counselling Research Group (NSCRG) and dataset. Work package 1 will create a national research group to standardise the national dataset on student mental health using data from all student counselling services (SCSs) in Irish HEIs. This new project is a collaboration between the Psychological Counsellors in Higher Education Ireland (PCHEI) and the Youth Mental Health Laboratory, University College Dublin (YMHL). Data are already gathered locally at over 22 HEIs, but a national system is needed. The research group will leverage both the PCHEI network and the YMHL expertise to provide a clear picture of student mental health and propose a national framework to examine the effectiveness of clinical interventions and preventive strategies.

Fixed Salary: €37,223 per annum
