Postdoctoral Scientist – Cell Biology
Starting Salary £30,464 - £33,305 per annum

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position in the laboratory of Dr Mario de Bono at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB), Cambridge to work within a programme aimed at understanding how nervous systems control behaviour and physiology.
The position involves combining advanced microscopy with molecular genetic approaches and biochemistry to take forward high-impact studies of molecular mechanisms that regulate neural circuit function. The approaches taken will combine neural imaging, forward and reverse genetics, genomics, and cell biology. The primary model used will be C. elegans, but discoveries made using this animal will be extended to mammalian cells and neurons.
Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant subject (biology; microscopy) or be due to complete a PhD within 6 months. You will have experience of working with C. elegans and/or mammalian tissue culture, including genetics and transgenics (e.g. use of CRISPR/Cas9 to engineer the genome), imaging and advanced microscopy, cell biology, biochemistry, and routine molecular biology.
