Applications are invited for a Senior Power Systems Researcher in the UCD School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. This is a temporary post.
Impending energy market changes, potential increased electrification of heat and transport sectors and increased renewable energy penetration will realise new opportunities for cost-effective energy storage and smart grid controls at all scales. These revolutions, coupled with increased consumer participation and awareness, will lead to a new paradigm in energy system analysis that must also account for energy security, stability and reliability.
We are seeking to hire a Senior Power Systems Researcher to join as a member of the research team to focus on the development of power system dynamic and network models, and the development of unit commitment models. A wide range of skills and expertise is therefore essential: modelling of power plant & power systems, power system operation & control, energy regulation & policy, load dynamic behaviour & associated economics, complexities of electricity market structures, integration of renewable & embedded generation, unit commitment & optimisation, etc.
See Job Description for more details.
