A Postdoctoral Research Assistant position is available at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), to undertake a project developing software analysis programs, and webservers associated with protein structures, and bioinformatics tools for circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy of proteins. The postholder will also contribute to the design and operation of the PCDDB (Protein Circular Dichroism Data Bank) and validation resource, as well as to collaborate on version control. Knowledge of JAVA and an upper level programme language is required.
The ideal candidate for this post, which is funded by the BBSRC [for one year in the first instance, with the possibility of extension], should have a Ph.D. in a related subject with experience in programming, and bioinformatics, and familiarity with structural biology. This post may also involve CD data collection in the UK and abroad, as well as substantial networking and collaboration with our partnering team at Birkbeck College.
This is a full-time, fixed term post with a start date on or before the beginning of April 2017. The salary will be in the range £32,405 - £38,062 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. The salary is according to qualifications, skills and experience. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
