    The Institute for Cardiovascular Prevention (IPEK) offers a Postdoc Position to study the role of Cxcl12 and its two receptors Cxcr4 and Cxcr7 in chronic inflammation.

    A Postdoc position is available to study the role of Cxcl12 and its two receptors Cxcr4 and Cxcr7 in chronic inflammation. Using atherosclerosis as a disease model for chronic inflammation, the project will interrogate the cell-specific and systemic effects of Cxcr4 in cholesterol metabolism in vivo and mechanisms underlying the cell-specific and global role of Cxcr7 in white adipose tissue, employing conditional knockout mice. This postdoc position is part of the SFB 1123 http://www.sfb1123.med.uni-muenchen.de/index.html and therefore offers excellent scientific collaborations.

    Our requirements:
    Eligible candidates (m/f) should have experience with mouse models, immunological and molecular biological techniques, a strong motivation and team spirit. German language skills would be helpful, solid English skills written and spoken are mandatory. The successful candidate (m/f) should hold an above-average PhD degree in biological sciences or related fields and have experience with basic methods of molecular and cellular biology.
