Post-doctoral Research Fellowship (Part-time; 50%): synthetic biology/ inverse pharmacology

    £31,342 - £37,394 (pro rata for 17.5hrs per week)


    This post is an important part of a project in the University's Synthetic Biology Research Centre, and will forge a new link between synthetic biology and pharmacology. Located in Prof Jamie Davies' lab (George Square site), the post-holder will work on a project to engineer custom drug-controllability into mammalian transcription factors. The post requires a PhD/DPhil in molecular genetics/ molecular cell biology/ molecular pharmacology, and experience in mammalian cell culture techniques. Knowledge of protein engineering, pharmacology or chemoinformatics would be an advantage. No in vivo animal work is involved.

    This part-time position is closely related to the half-time computer-based position Research Fellow - Developer (Ref: 032913) and the positions could be combined to one full-time position for a suitable candidate.
