We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Training Fellow to work full time on a number of exciting projects in our Complex Trait Genetics laboratory, led by Dr Nick Orr. The successful applicant will use the Breakthrough Generations Study and the Breakthrough Male Breast Cancer Study to functionally characterise inherited susceptibility to breast cancer and to explore opportunities for early detection of breast cancer by profiling of circulating cell-free tumour DNA. The successful applicant will enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team and interacting with our internal and external biology, epidemiology and pathology collaborators. The post holder will excel in coordinating and exploring medical research areas through exploiting with these collaborations, be a fast learner, and will be highly committed.
Candidates should possess a PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics or other relevant discipline and have a strong track record of high quality biomedical research and an appropriate publication record. Experience in cell and molecular biology techniques as well as with next generation sequencing methods is essential.
Appointment will be on a Fixed Term Contract for up to two years in the first instance, with a starting salary in the range £28,966 - £36,858 p.a. inclusive based on previous experience. The full scale for the post is £28,966 p.a. - £41,400 p.a. inclusive.
