Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1



    Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Biosystems & Food Engineering.

    The aim of the Ammonia Impact Reduction on Natura 2000 Sites (AIRN2K) project is to develop methodologies to monitor ammonia impacts across the Natura 2000 network alongside the development of novel local and national models to identify approaches to alleviate ammonia impacts on Irish Natura 2000 sites. This work is funded through the Environmental Protection Agency Research Programme. The development of the National Ecosystems Monitoring Network (NEMN) under the NEC Directive is central to the proposed research. The NEMN is a permanent monitoring network being developed by the EPA targeting air quality impacts on sensitive ecosystems through collaboration with National Parks and Wildlife Service, Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Met Éireann and many others. The AIRN2K project is intended to support and utilise monitoring within the NEMN to enhance the scope of analysis possible from this network. This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

    Salary Range: €43,908 - €50,302 Per Annum
    Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience

If you have already completed your PD1 stage in UCD or will soon complete a PD1, or you are an external applicant whose total Postdoctoral experience, inclusive of the duration of the advertised post, would exceed 4 years, you should not apply and should refer to PD2 posts instead.
