    Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Biomolecular & Biomedical Science.

    Applications are invited for a temporary, full-time position of Post-Doctoral Researcher in the UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science, based in the Conway Institute. The successful applicant will work on a two-year industry funded research project exploring novel epitranscriptomic (RNA modification)-based therapeutic strategies for the treatment of epilepsy. The project is also linked with the SFI funded FutureNeuro Research Centre (https://www.futureneurocentre.ie/). The postdoctoral researcher will use a combination of pharmacological and transgenic approaches, in vivo mouse models of epilepsy and molecular-based analyses to determine the therapeutic utility of targeting RNA regulating enzymes to treat seizures and epilepsy-related comorbidities. There will also be the opportunity for the researcher to explore and profile novel epitranscriptomic modifications in epilepsy.
    This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

    The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

    Fixed Salary: €42,783 per annum.


    Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
