    Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Biomolecular & Biomedical Science.

    Applications are invited for a temporary, full-time position of Post-Doctoral Researcher in the UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science, based in the Conway Institute. The successful applicant will work on an up to four-year fully funded research project exploring the role of long non-coding RNAs in genetic epilepsies, specifically CHD2-related neurodevelopmental disorders. The project is also linked with the SFI funded FutureNeuro Research Centre (https://www.futureneurocentre.ie/) and involves key collaborations with Prof Rory Johnson, UCD (https://people.ucd.ie/rory.johnson). The postdoctoral researcher will perform a high throughput CRISPR interference screen in human iPSCs to identify lncRNAs which regulate neuronal development and associated validation experiments such as perturb-seq.

    This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

    The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

    Fixed Salary: €42,783 per annum

    Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
