    Essential Functions

    Job Summary

    Function:

    The Metallobiochemistry laboratory in the Department of Chemistry at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is seeking exceptional candidates to fill two NIH grant-funded Postdoctoral Associate positions. We invite applications from individuals with substantial research experience in Enzymology, Structural Biology, Biophysical Spectroscopy, or Mass Spectrometry. Each position is intended for 3 - 5 years.

    Duties

    Typical:

    • Conduct innovative and independent research projects within the areas of protein metallochemistry, enzymology, structural biology, biophysical spectroscopy, or mass spectrometry.
    • Foster collaboration with other researchers in the laboratory and at UTSA to promote a dynamic research environment.
    • Mentor and guide graduate students and undergraduate researchers, fostering academic and professional growth.
    • Contribute proactively to the overall success and advancement of the Metallobiochemistry laboratory.

    Required Qualifications

    • Ph.D. in Biochemistry or a related discipline, such as Bioinorganic Chemistry, Biophysics, or Structural Biology.
    • Demonstrated expertise and hands-on experience in one of the research areas mentioned above.
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills to effectively convey research findings.
    • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team setting.

    Working Conditions

    The primary work location for this position will be on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
