Two postdoctoral researcher positions are available to join the Riccio team, studying the molecular basis of neuronal development at the LMCB. These positions will require working together with the principal investigator and other members of the team in carrying out highly competitive research in mammalian neurons. We are seeking highly motivated and creative scientists to join the our team efforts to understand how gene expression is regulated in neurons using state-of-art neuronal cell cultures techniques and assays, next generation sequencing techniques, gene expression and epigenetics regulation analysis, including whole genome studies at population and at single cell level.

The candidate will be required to design, develop and be responsible for the delivery of internationally competitive research in the field of neuronal cell and molecular biology. The candidate will be expected to perform original independent research in the areas of molecular, cell and developmental neurobiology, from the experimental design to the analysis and data presentation. The posts are both available until 31 December 2024 in the first instance.

To deliver this role effectively you will need a combination of excellent understanding of molecular and cell biology with a special focus on stem cell biology and developmental hematopoiesis as well the ability to establish effective and collaborative relationships. The successful candidates will be will be part of a highly productive research team studying mammalian neuronal biology, spanning from molecular analysis of gene expression and its regulation to in vitro and in vivo assays of neuronal functions, with potential translational applicability.
