Postdoctoral Scientist – Structural Studies - Electron microscopy
Salary Range £30,464 – £33,305 per annum

An opportunity is available for a postdoctoral researcher to work on computational methods for cryo-electron tomography and subtomogram averaging. The main project aims are: to design and implement an image-processing toolbox for subtomogram averaging by combining existing tools and expertise from the groups of John Briggs and Sjors Scheres; to develop a framework to understand how to collect optimized cryo-electron tomography data.
You should have a PhD in a relevant subject (physics, computational sciences, biophysics or similar) and a strong interest in the theory and methods of cryo-electron microscopy and image processing. Experience is in computer programming is required. The ideal candidate will have experience in computational image processing for electron microscopy.
