    The position
    How would you like to work with state-of-the-art viral vector systems and genome modification tools? We’re looking for a Postdoc to join our research group investigating gene transfer and gene editing strategies for correcting muscle progenitor cells from patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

    Your profile
    • Has obtained a PhD in Biomedical sciences or in a similar research field within the past 5 years
    • Possesses solid theoretical knowledge and practical experience in molecular and cellular biology
    • Has previous experience with viral vector systems and gene editing technologies
    • Is proficient in both written and spoken English
    • Has shown the capacity for independent writing of scientific articles and reports
    • Is meticulous in documenting and tracing reagents and experimental results
    • Can supervise and manage a small team in coordination with other group members

    What we offer
    You will be employed on the basis of a 36-hour week. The appointment is initially for one year with the possibility to be extended by one additional year, for the duration of the project. Your salary will depend on your qualifications and experience, with a maximum of € 4,194 gross per month based on a full time position (scale 10 of the Collective Labour Agreement for University Hospitals).

    The organisation
    The LUMC is a center for medical innovation that aims to improve patient care through leading international research. So as to also provide our patients with a safe and friendly environment, we need doctors, medical care specialists, support staff and academic researchers. Within the Department of Molecular Cell Biology, the Virus & Stem Cell Biology Section focuses on developing viruses and stem/progenitor cells into therapeutic agents for the treatment of human diseases. The Section is further divided into sub-groups with this research project being carried out in the gene editing sub-group. All research in the Department is performed in collaboration with groups within and outside the LUMC.
