Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in the Epigenetics and post-transcriptional gene regulation group. The Epigenetics and post-transcriptional gene regulation group uses molecular, cellular, proteomic and computational approaches to address how epigenetic responses at repetitive genomic regions influence post-transcriptional gene regulation. Our goal is to establish what role such responses play in phenotypic outcomes driven by environmental exposures during early mammalian development. The purpose of the proposed research project is to develop transgenic mammalian cell models that recapitulate environmentally driven epigenetic responses. This will provide a suite of cell lines in which to explore the downstream consequences of these genotype-epigenetic interactions which will be evaluated in comparison with ex vivo derived models.

Applicants must hold a PhD in a discipline relevant to the post, have proven expertise with mammalian cell culture, vector construction, molecular and cell biology profiling techniques and ideally experience or a strong desire to develop a range of bioinformatics skills relevant to the analysis of high volume biological datasets.
Successful candidates will be enthusiastic, well organised and enjoy working well in groups, yet capable of being self-directed when appropriate and have a strong interest in the basic biology of gene regulation and epigenetics. They will have a strong track record of publications and other research outputs in their respective field and also possess excellent communication skills and be dedicated to thorough record keeping and performing research of the highest quality.
The selection process will include a panel interview
