This post offers challenging and stimulating opportunities for researchers with a background in Image Processing, Computer Vision and Autonomous Systems.
Signals and Autonomy Group is one of the six groups within the Centre for Electronic Warfare, Information and Cyber. The Group covers a wide variety of topics encompassing; Image Processing Techniques, Vision based Navigation systems, Autonomous Vehicles, Security, Automatic Object Recognition, 2D/3D Mapping, and Guidance and Control Techniques.
Main responsibilities include:
• To perform research in Imaging, Computer Vision and applications on autonomous systems
• To publish high quality journals based on the research carried out
• To manage/participate in the daily basis interaction with our research partners
• To supervise practical work where it is part of the intended project or other projects in the Signals and Autonomy Group
You will have:
• A PhD (or nearing completion) in an appropriate field
• Significant expertise in image processing, computer vision and/or estimation theory from industrial or academic exposure
• Experience of publishing in high quality journals
• Knowledge in terms of sensor systems (Cameras and/or LIDAR, and/or Inertial sensors)
In addition, skills for Matlab/C/C++ programming proficiency are essential.
A PhD with an application on imaging and Computer vision and familiarity with autonomous systems concepts are desirable.
