We are seeking an enthusiastic, confident individual experienced in cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) to work in Professor Stefan Piechnik’s team in the Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR) at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. You will undertake an important project standardising a selection of protocols and advanced cardiac mapping techniques for immediate clinical applications. This unique role will be crucial in the promotion of new CMR methods and their translation into clinical practice.

Your main responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining a network of support for end-users of these methods in a variety of settings both internal and external to the University. You will hold (or be close to obtaining) a PhD in Physics, Computer Science or a relevant discipline with proven skills in numerical methods implementation and programming. Experience in image interpretation and analysis is also essential, preferably in a clinical research setting. In addition, the post demands excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with a wide range of healthcare professionals promoting method uptake and providing method-specific support for cardiac MR end-users.

This full time post is funded by the National Institute of Health Research Oxford Biomedical Research Centre and is available from 1st April 2017 for 2 years in the first instance.
