We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to study signalling mechanisms (in particular the role of MAPKs) that regulate epigenetic modifications to control the chromatin signature and hence fate of adult stem cells. The post holder will be involved in a project based on exciting preliminary results which involves understanding of the roles of extrinsic and intrinsic signalling in adult stem cell self renewal and differentiation. The project will exploit the excellence in epigenetics and chromatin biology that exists both at Babraham and in the wider Cambridge area, and will employ a range of techniques e.g. activation/knockdown of specific MAPK pathways; next generation sequencing for genome wide binding/transcriptome analysis; use of genetically modified mice.

Applicants must have a PhD in cell signalling/biochemistry and/or chromatin biology and knowledge of epigenetics and stem cell biology. Experience in molecular and cellular techniques and cell culture is also essential.
