Applications are invited for a two-year postdoctoral position at the Rince Institute, Faculty of Engineering & Computing, Dublin City University.

The successful candidate will focus on analysing, designing and prototyping solutions to a number of performance challenges related to the interconnection network of very large scale high-performance computing systems. The research will be conducted in collaboration with the IBM Exascale Stream Computing Collaboratory.

The successful postdoctoral fellow must hold a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and have a proven track record of high quality research in the following areas:

    ▪ Data Network Performance Evaluation - (e.g. queuing analysis, mathematical analysis of protocol performance and data traffic characteristics, discrete-event simulation)

    ▪ Network Optimisation and Dimensioning - (e.g. topology optimisation, resource and bandwidth allocation methods, QoS provisioning, routing, traffic grooming)

    ▪ Previous experience in the following topics would also be an advantage - Optical Interconnects, High Speed Signalling, WDM, Ethernet, network test-bed implementation, protocol optimisation and prototyping, distributed/parallel network simulation methods.

The position will be co-funded by IRCSET and IBM through IRCSET’s Enterprise Partnership Scheme. Applicants must meet IRCSET’s eligibility criteria and will be assessed independently by IRCSET.
