    Fixed-term 3 Years

    A postdoctoral scientist is required to join the Post-transcriptional Control Group at the MRC Toxicology Unit to work on a project investigating the pathways that are deregulated in malignant mesothelioma (a very aggressive and fatal tumour of the pleura or peritoneum strongly related to former asbestos exposure).

    This is a three year training and development position suitable for somebody who has recently completed their PhD or a more experienced postdoctoral scientist wishing to move into a new research discipline. Candidates should have a PhD in Biochemistry, Cell biology or Genetics. Experience of advanced RNA techniques is required together with a proven track record of obtaining high quality data using molecular biological techniques.

    The starting salary will be in the range of £26,022 - £28,178 per annum.
