Our group is interested in the molecular mechanisms how thyroid hormone modulates peripheral body functions by central actions, acutely or during brain development. The ongoing projects combine in vivo manipulation by e.g. stereotaxic injections of adeno-associated virus and genetically engineered mice with phenotypical readouts in behavior, physiology and particularly metabolism. The position is available from spring 2011. We are looking for a highly motivated and independent postdoc who has finished the PhD in the last 3 years in Biochemistry, Biomedicine or a similar area. Knowledge in animal experimentation, neuroscience, endocrinology or metabolism is of advantage. Funding is available for up to two years, although the successful candidate is encouraged to apply for independent support.
