We are looking to recruit a Post Doctoral Research Fellow (Career Development Fellow) for a 3 year position to work in the Cancer Genomics Group headed by Dr. Anthony Uren within the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre. The Clinical Sciences Centre is an Institute of the Medical Research Council, based at the Hammersmith Campus, with close links to Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust and Imperial College London.

Our lab investigates the molecular basis of cancer with an emphasis on the study of lymphoma and leukemia. We perform insertional mutagenesis screens in the hematopoietic compartment and integrate the results of these with mutation detection studies of human tumours and other tumour derived genome wide data sets. The effects of specific mutations upon the development of hematopoietic malignancies and the potential for these genes as therapeutic targets is characterised further by the development of novel mouse models.

You should have a PhD (hold or soon to be awarded) in biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, or other relevant discipline. Previous experience working with basic molecular biology techniques and mammalian cell culture is essential. Experience in mouse models of cancer, mES culture, bioinformatics and/or statistics is desirable.

This post is a Career Development Fellowship to support post-doctoral scientists in early or changed career training and help establish them as a successful research scientist in their chosen field. It is initially a 3-year training and development post, which incorporates both scientific and transferable skills training.
