National Food Residues Database Administrator ((Ref: NFRO/AFRC/1210)



    A vacancy exists a scientist to work in the area of chemical residues in food. The successful candidate will work on the Food and Health Research Initiative funded programme entitled “Safe and Healthy Foods”. The researcher will be responsible for maintaining the National Food Residue Database, which is Ireland’s authoritative database on chemical contaminants food.

    Applicants should have an honours degree in science related discipline. Knowledge and experience in the areas of food safety, chemical contaminants in food and analytical chemistry are desirable. Good computer skills, and strong communication skills both oral and written are highly desirable. Experience in a related area and/or a postgraduate qualification are desirable. The appointment will be on the basis of a contract for a period of up to 24 months.
