    The Graduate School of Nursing invites applications for a three-year post-doctoral Translational Research Fellowship in Pharmacology and Cancer Biology in the Graduate School of Nursing (GSN).

    Qualifications: The qualified candidate will have a PhD in Pharmacology, Cancer Biology, Biochemistry or related area. Familiarity with pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenetics, molecular biology and biochemistry is preferred.

    This NLNAC and CCNE accredited Graduate School of Nursing offers program options in Nurse Anesthesia, Nurse Practitioner (family health), and Clinical Nurse Specialist (perioperative) leading to the MSN. The PhD program has a research-intensive focus within the areas of population health and outcomes, operational readiness, and clinical decision making. The Graduate School of Nursing is committed to promoting clinical excellence, and furthering research and scholarship in healthcare. Located within the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), the GSN enjoys close relationships with the College of Medicine, National Naval Medical Center, National Institutes of Health and Walter Reed Army Institute of Research.

    This post-doc is open immediately at the Laboratory of Experimental Therapeutics and Cancer Chemotherapy at the GSN, Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD.
    The Laboratory focus is on bench to bedside translational research in clinical oncology. Major responsibilities include: conducting experiments, maintaining cell cultures, working with animal models, and providing general laboratory management. In addition, the fellow will assist in the mentoring of masters and doctoral students conducting research projects. This is an opportunity to learn the art of drug development from the bench side to the clinic. The successful candidate will participate in grant writing, be included in the protocols of funded grants, and assist in the preparation of scientific manuscripts.
