The Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, opened the process for selecting a postdoctoral fellow for research project "Production of primary iron through self-reduction technologies." One of the milestones refers to the reduction of composite iron ore-carbon in rotary kilns. The selected candidate will participate in the production, processing and evaluation of composite pellets in laboratory and pilot scale, including the development of equipment for dynamic testing of composite pellet reduction. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in metallurgical engineering or related area, interest in extractive metallurgy and manufacturing processes, and availability of living in Sao Paulo, Brazil, during the three year project.
