Teaching activities
The Senior Lecturer will teach especially education to values in the Bachelor en Sciences de l’Éducation, most notably for the new On-The-Job Track. Teaching in the Master of Secondary Education is also foreseen.
Research activities
The position is affiliated with the Research Unit “Identités. Politiques, Sociétés, Espaces (IPSE)”. In this Research Unit, interdisciplinary research in languages and literature, the humanities and social sciences is being conducted. Related activities are focused on research in various areas including among others multi-level governance analysis of public policies, spatial planning and sustainable development, or research on border areas. Within RU IPSE the Senior Lecturer will take on research activities in the Institute of Philosophy Furthermore. The Senior Lecturer will contribute to the research activities of the Luxemburg Centre for School Development. These research activities will be devoted to the education to ethics and aesthetics.
Profile
• expertise in the didactics of ethics and aesthetics;
• experience with practical teaching in secondary schools in values education,
• administrative experience, preferably in the administration of study programmes and other fields related to science and education;
• organizational experience;
• experience with interdisciplinary research.
Qualifications, experience, aptitude:
• Ph.D. in Philosophy or a field related to ethics and aesthetics
• a minimum of three years of post-doctoral experience acquired in a university or comparable research centre;
• practical teaching experience in secondary schools in ethics and aesthetics
• university-level teaching experience
Languages:
The University of Luxembourg is set in a multilingual and multicultural context. For this position, an excellent command of French or German is required, the other language must be at least passively understood. Good knowledge of English is also required.
