Postdoc position in Food Chemistry



    A Postdoc position is available at the Department of Biotechnology. The position is financed by the Faculty of Natural Science and Technology and is within the field of Food chemistry. The candidate will work with issues related to health promoting and bioactive molecules in food and how these changes during processing and storage of food.

    The current research fields at the Department includes Analysis and control of microbial systems, Biopolymers and Biomaterials, Food Chemistry and Microbial Biotechnology. Department of Biotechnology has around 80 employees. Further information is available at: http://www.ntnu.edu/biotech.

    Job description:
    The position is for 3 years and includes one year of teaching duties. The post doc will work on ongoing research projects within food chemistry. The research projects focus on preservation of health promoting components in food. The research is related to several ongoing projects focusing on experimental studies where the aim is to understand biochemical processes that are important for the stability of these components. We are therefore looking for a candidate with interest for research within biochemistry related to foods.

    Qualifications:
    The post doc position is a qualification position where the main aim is qualification for scientific positions. For these positions, a PhD within the relevant research area is required. For this position, a PhD in biotechnology, food chemistry or similar background is needed.

    Terms of employment:
    The appointment of the Postdoc will be made according to Norwegian guidelines for universities and university colleges and to the general regulations regarding university employees.

    NTNU’s personnel policy objective is that the staff must reflect the composition of the population to the greatest possible extent.

    The position as Postdoc is renumerated according to the Norwegian State salary scale. There is a 2% deduction for superannuation contribution. The post doc position is for 3 years.
