The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £34,261 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
A Research Associate position, funded for 3 years in the first instance, working on the role of NMDA receptor dysfunction in epileptic disorders is available in the laboratories of Professors Robert Harvey and Kirsten Harvey at the UCL School of Pharmacy, starting 1st May 2015. The Research Associate will contribute to several aspects of this MRC-funded study, including studying the molecular and cellular biology of NMDA receptor mutants, generating and analysing mouse knock-in mutants and performing cell signalling assays.
Subject to the regulations of the funding bodies appropriately qualified members of research staff will be expected to contribute to teaching or other departmental activities. At the present time this is estimated to amount to an absolute maximum of thirty contact teaching hours per annum for full time staff.
Required techniques for this project include molecular biology and experience with knock-in/knockout mouse generation and phenotyping. Experience in cell culture, in vitro signalling assays and confocal imaging is also desirable.
