Applications are invited for two Post-doctoral Research Assistants to work with Professor Manos Tsakiris on the project “The plasticity of the self”, funded by a European Research Council Starting Investigator Grant. The project will investigate the neural correlates of social cognition and self-awareness, especially but not exclusively, when social cognition processes and self-representations change as a result of multisensory experiences.
Applicants should have a PhD in psychology or neuroscience (or are expected to complete a PhD in these disciplines by September/October 2014), a strong background in behavioural and neuroimaging methods, and strong abilities in programming and data analysis. Experience with TMS, tDCS and expertise in social cognition and/or developmental psychology research are highly desirable.
The Psychology Department, located in Egham, close to Central London, has an excellent research profile (rated 5 in the last RAE) and benefits from state-of-the-art research facilities (e.g. MRI, TMS, EEG, cognitive behavioural testing suites).
This is a full time and available from 1st September 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter for a fixed term period of 17 months. This post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
