Cellular Electron Microscopy Specialist – Cellular Biology

The Cell Biology division at MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) wishes to recruit a specialist in cellular electron microscopy. The post will involve supporting multiple research projects within the institute, and implementation of new techniques including correlative microscopy and cryo-EM methods. There is also scope for the post-holder to manage an independent project if appropriate.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate extensive experience in standard resin-embedding, sectioning, staining and electron microscopy imaging of cell or tissue samples, and ideally will have familiarity with more advanced approaches such as high-pressure freezing or electron tomography. The successful applicant will be appointed to a permanent post either at the higher level of Band 3 involving managerial responsibility for electron microscopy support, or at Band 4.
