Postdoctoral Scientist – Structural Studies
Salary Range £30,464 – £33,305 per annum

An opportunity is available for a postdoctoral researcher to work on the mechanisms of membrane fusion. The project aims to investigate understand the fusion of HIV-1 and influenza virus with target cells by applying cryo-electron tomography and other complimentary methods.
You should have a PhD in a relevant biological subject and a desire to understand the mechanisms of membrane fusion. Experience is required in cryo-electron tomography and in working with enveloped viruses. The ideal candidate will also have experience in cryo-correlative light and electron microscopy, and in image analysis by subtomogram averaging.
