MDM2/P53 Research Group: Postdoctoral Research Associate Grade 7



    We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our research team to investigate the mechanisms underlying and develop strategies to exploit alterations in tumour metabolism as a therapeutic target in kidney cancer cells. The Mersey Kidney First funded project is entitled: Developing a combinatorial therapeutic strategy for kidney cancer by targeting metabolic and apoptotic regulators: FBP1 and p53. The project will entail molecular and cellular approaches to study and manipulate gene function and monitor the effects of drugs.     You should have a PhD in a relevant subject. Experience of cell culture, and some molecular and cellular techniques such as gene cloning, western blotting, transfection, gene expression, gene function or metabolic analyses would be advantageous. The post is available for 2 years.
