Cardiovascular diseases are the number one cause of morbidity and mortality in Western societies. Immune cells and their responses participate in all phases of atherosclerosis.
We focus on mechanisms and functional role of immune cells in vascular biology, bridging immunology and cardiovascular pathology. There is a special interest in cell biology and the molecular signaling mechanisms driving atherogenic inflammation and myocardial infarction.
Successful candidates should hold a PhD or equivalent or have studied Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or Vascular Biology, and are expected to prove outstanding academic performance and scientific excellence in life sciences. Prerequisite is previous hands on experience with experimental mouse models and prior work in the field of inflammation, cardiovascular research or related areas. Suitable candidates should be highly motivated with an intrinsic interest in molecular and disease mechanisms.

Postdoc applicants from abroad are highly encouraged to apply for a Humboldt Research Fellowship, if applicable.

Salary according to TV-L. We give priority to applicants with a disability and essentially equal qualifications.

Applicants should submit their complete application document (including CV, motivation letter, publication list and references) in a single PDF file to: [email protected]

Presentation costs cannot be refunded. Skype interviews for candidates from abroad are welcome for an initial interview.
