We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Post-Doctoral Research Assistant with excellent academic, interpersonal and organisational skills to undertake research on externally funded projects within the Centre for Biomarker Research, under the direction of Dr Patrick McHugh.
Your main role will be to undertake research in developing and validating translational biomarkers of neuropathic pain from clinical samples to preclinical animal models of neuropathic pain however, you will also be required to undertake research in accordance with a range of research projects.
You will hold a First or Upper second class honours degree (or a masters) in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry or related discipline along with a PhD in a relevant discipline and research interests and experience in the broad area of health/medical research.
You will have experience in range of technical skills including: the collection and handling of clinical samples; experience with molecular techniques, qPCR, OMIC technologies; as well as potential experience with Quantitative Sensory Testing (QST), phlebotomy and preclinical animal research. You should also have extensive experience of presenting and writing-up research results for publication in peer-viewed journals.
