Research Associate in Energy- and Information-Aware Data Acquisition and Transmission Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks



    The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £32,375 - £39,132 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

    We wish to recruit a Research Associate from the 1st October 2013, or as soon as possible thereafter, to work on an EPSRC funded project, 'Efficient Energy Management in Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensor Networks: An Approach Based on Distributed Compressive Sensing'.

    The successful applicant will be responsible for algorithm design for low-energy data acquisition and coding and software or hardware implementation of energy-aware sensing and transmission within an energy-harvesting wireless sensor network. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for the experimental evaluation of proposed designs within real wireless sensor network hardware and also publishing the research in leading journals.

    The post is funded for 2 years in the first instance. Further funding to support the post may be available.

    Candidates should hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with significant research experience in wireless sensor networks, MAC or application-layer protocol design for wireless networks and algorithms and software for data-intensive communications in wireless sensor networks.
