A Postdoctoral Research Assistant position is available at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) in Prof. Christophe Eizaguirre’s research group, to work on the adaptive potential of sea turtles, including tolerance to increased temperature and epigenetics of sex determination. This is a NERC funded project which aims to understand sex-ratio bias and the evolution of rescue mechanisms in a species with temperature-dependent sex determination.
The successful candidate should have a PhD (or be close to completion) in Evolutionary Biology, Genomics, or a related field. They will be involved in genome/DNA methylation sequence analysis to evaluate the adaptive potential of sea turtles. As such, they should provide evidence of programming skills, should be proficient in genome analysis and population genetics. Past-experience of working with whole genome bisulfite sequences would be a plus but is not mandatory. Proven track record of published research is essential. Self-motivation, an ability to work as part of a team and an interest in new research questions will be fundamental to the position.

The post is full-time and available for up to 19 months. The start date would be 1st March 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
