Postdoc in Genebank Genomics (f/m/d)

The research group Domestication Genomics studies domestication and adaptation processes and their interaction with genetic diversity in crops and their wild relatives. Research is mainly focused on the temperate cereals barley, wheat, and oat. We take advantage of the large number of wild and domesticated accessions that are maintained in the IPK genebank. We are currently conducting genebank genomics projects in wheat and barley with the aim of characterizing genetic diversity in our collections, comparing it to other genebanks and linking genotypes to agronomic phenotypes.

    Your tasks:
    - Analysis of genotyping-by-sequencing and whole-genome shotgun data of wheat and barley genebank accessions
    - Population genomic analysis of variation data
    - Comparing diversity matrices from different genebanks
    - Mapping traits by kmerGWAS

    You fit to us:
… if you are interested in the genetics of crop plants and/or computational biology.
… if you see your future in academic research.

    Your qualifications and skills:
    - A PhD degree in plant genetics, bioinformatics or a related field
    - Experience in plant genomics
    - Knowledge of one programing and/or scripting language
    - Excellent command of the English language
    - Strong publication record

    We offer you:
… an interdisciplinary research environment at the intersection of life sciences and informatics.
… a gross salary will be up E-13 TVL.
… an employment initially for 24 months, starting by 01.10.2021.

If you need further information feel free to contact Dr. Martin Mascher Tel.: +49 (0) 39482 5243.

    What you need to know:
