Postdoc in Epigenetics (f/m/x)

At our institute you will find a scientifically stimulating international environment. Together with renowned scientists and supported by an excellent infrastructure you will have the opportunity to make an important contribution for a healthier society.
The Institute of Functional Epigenetics (IFE) focuses on understanding the epigenetic mechanisms whereby cells and organisms integrate metabolic signals, establish cellular memory, and regulate plasticity. We leverage this knowledge to identify new epigenetic pathways for drug discovery. We use cutting-edge methods (multi-omics, single cell, live cell imaging, modelling, biochemistry as well as various developmental, stem cell and cell biology systems) to predict, observe, and manipulate epigenetic processes.

    The position
The Schneider group is recruiting a Postdoc to work on the interphase between chromatin biochemistry, epigenetics and epitranscriptomics. The applicant should have experience in the epigenetics or chromatin field, a solid publication record and be motivated to develop and drive her/his own project.

The successful candidate will address a central question in epigenetics: how do epigenetic mechanisms control gene expression programs in single cells and how are transcriptional states maintained through cell divisions.

The applicant will implement a combination of in vitro and in vivo approaches, including different "omics" techniques and their analyses as well as the development of novel single cell technologies. He/she will benefit from a vibrant scientific environment within the Helmholtz center as well as the strong epigenetics and chromatin community in the Munich area.
