A Postdoctoral Research Assistant position is available at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) in Dr Stoichko Dimitrov’s group, to work on the EPSRC-funded project “Next generation in-situ analysis for perovskite photovoltaic development”.

The successful candidate should have a PhD (or be close to completion) in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science or a related field. They should provide evidence of expertise of optical and electronic instrument development and data acquisition software development (e.g. LabView or Python). A proven track record of published research in laser/optical spectroscopy of perovskite or organic photovoltaics is highly desirable. Self-motivation, an ability to lead a project and excellent research management and interpersonal skills are essential.

The post-holder will conduct research on the development and application of a novel optical spectroscopy instrument which analyses perovskite thin films to resolve structure-photovoltaic performance relationships of printed devices. The successful candidate will be expected to design and construct the instrument and write the data acquisition software. They will also be required to analyse the experimental data and report it in the form of conference presentations and research papers. The candidate will join a vibrant and multi-disciplinary research team with passion for innovation and impact. They will have the opportunity to travel to conferences and visit the project collaborators, Prof Thomas Kirchartz (Forschungszentrum Jülich), Prof Trystan Watson (Swansea University) and Cambridge Photon Technology Ltd.
